Character Concepts
One of my main passions when it comes to both game and story design is the creation of characters. I have populated many of my different worlds and games with a variety of characters. Not being an artist, I find more enjoyment in creating their backgrounds character traits, relationships, personality etc. Constantly working towards refining them. These are a few examples of the ones I have fleshed out through both my writing and game design
Jokemu
Jokemu, or Joke as his mate refers to him, is a Sasquatch who resides in the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest and the main character of several short-stories I have written. Jokemu stands just shy of six feet tall, sporting a bulky and muscular frame and covered in a thick coat of dark brown fur, with a makeshift bandage on his right arm concealing a pair of bullet wounds and a leather loincloth tied around his waist with a makeshift rope. He usually wears a necklace with a single sharp pointed piece of stone at the end that was given to him by his mate. Jokemu was born to a lowly family in a tribe located in Southwestern Canada and was born with a small quirk, he was a runt, only being able to reach about six feet in height. This "defect" however led the young Sasquatch's muscles to develop at an alarming rate which led to him become the strongest member in his tribe by his late teens. For many years he was a terrible fighter and hunter being rather slow and clumsy given his bulk. After forming a romantic relationship with the chief's daughter and best friend, Sihu, he sought out to improve his abilities as a hunter and warrior as he constantly felt that he was never quite good enough for his mate despite her constant reassurance. When they were older, the two ran away from the tribe in order for Sihu to escape her arranged marriage with another tribe's prince. Jokemu is a very easy-going creature preferring to take his time when performing tasks. He is incredibly proud often challenging himself at every chance he can because of the hand he was dealt as a child. He enjoys a good laugh and is ferociously protective of his partner and is not afraid to defend himself if it comes down to it. He has an innate distrust of humans believing them to be monsters and vicious killers and secretly fears them. After an altercation with a hunter which left Sihu unconscious due to a sleep dart he lets himself go flying into an uncontrollable primal rage nearly killing the human but was shot twice in the arm and hit with a sleep dart of his own. When he wakes up Sihu is gone and he must journey to the land of Man in order to save her.
Sihu
Sihu is a Sasquatch who resides in the forests of the Pacific Northwest and is deuteragonist of the short stories I've written involving her mate Jokemu. She is on the shorter end of Sasquatch females, standing six foot seven inches tall but not quite as short as Jokemu. Sihu wears a leather garment that wraps around her slender and muscular figure and often sports a flower of some kind in her hair her favorite being the Balloon Flower due to its blue coloring. She is covered in a thick coat of fur that is a slightly lighter shade of brown than her mate's and has more of her face uncovered than his. She wears a necklace with a small sharpened stone at the end similar to Jokemu's She is the only daughter of the Chief of a Sasquatch tribe situated in the Rocky Mountains of Southern Canada and was set to become the tribe's next leader merging two tribes together through an arranged marriage. When she learns of the arranged marriage she attempts to bargain with her father, but to no avail. This leads her to flee the tribe with Jokemu to the Pacific Northwest of the United States. When she was young girl she met Jokemu when playing in the woods and has made him her closest companion ever since. The two would often partake in friendly fights where she would usually win outsmarting Joke and using her speed to her advantage. She is quite intelligent and able to think on her feet and is an excellent fighter as result. Sihu has a free-spirit and a love for the wilderness around her but remains strong and independent, often butting heads with her father over his leadership and overprotective nature. She is just as protective of Joke as Jokemu is of her, often standing up for him when others made fun of his height when they were young. She has a love for practical jokes especially playing them on Jokemu and has a tremendous wit, knowing just how to push her companion's buttons. The cruelty of human hunters hurts her deeply but unlike her partner, she does not fear humans as much believing that only a select few of them are like this.
Lzote Shognal
Lzote Shognal is one of the four major forces that govern the universe. He is the force of chaos in the universe and the eldest of the universal deities. He was formed from the chaos that existed at the beginning of all time and was the catalyst that set off a chain of events that created the universe. A master of chaos, mischief, misfortune, Lzote is generally a fun loving guy. He is gangly with a pointed jaw, a mischievous large toothed grin, and a few demonic features such as horns and large dragon-like wings. He often likes to change into various outfits but prefers a standard loudly colored suit and tie feeling it makes him look more approachable. He is a natural born showman despite his penchant to cause mischief; he often gets fully absorbed into his roles becoming an entirely different character. He often uses his powers of shape-shifting and reality bending to torment others although he sees it as playing a game or making their lives more interesting. His impulses for mischief and chaos led him to a life of solitude and a strong desire to make friends. This loneliness prompts him to throw himself a birthday party so he can hang out with the other gods however they are too busy tending to the needs of the universe. He then searched the universe for some new friends kidnapping them and forcing them to be his guests where they play a board game of his own design. Lzote's naivete leads him to not quite understand the discomfort he causes people but performs all of these acts in good fun, making sure nobody gets hurt... most of the time
Francine "Frankie" Brown

Concept Art By: Stuart Griswold
Francine Brown, or Frankie as her mother calls her is a young woman of about sixteen, with an obsession for all things involving science and gothic horror. She stands about 5 feet tall and is very slender, with a pair of dark, sunken in eyes, long, somewhat unkempt, dark colored hair. She is clad in a tattered lab coat, green shirt with the grisly visage of Frankenstein's monster plastered on it, baggy black pants or a long skirt depending on her mood, and a single tattered black bow in the shape of a bat in her hair. She is a prodigy in all things science and especially excels at robotics and anatomy. She often finds herself getting lost in the idea of creating a life-form all her own, a dangerous practice in the eyes of many an author. She has succeeded in creating several simple robots but no concrete life-form as of yet. The closest she has come to creating a fully functioning human is her most recent invention known simply as E.I.N. This fascination has quickly grown into an obsession however and often spends her time experimenting on leftover organs from her father's butcher shop. She is incredibly passionate when it comes to her experiments to an almost maniacal degree, leading to many sleepless nights as she makes a breakthrough in her research. She is rather introverted keeping her friend group small. She hates most people she comes across, specifically others her age, finding them quite obnoxious. Despite this, she has a very accepting view of the world, albeit a pessimistic one. She has a tremendous amount of charisma for an introvert knowing how to talk to and manipulate people in to giving her what she wants and has a tremendous grasp on people and their behaviors. This charisma allows for most adults view her as an incredibly polite and mature girl. She is a good person at heart often hoping she can use her experiments for good and will stand up for the people she has deemed friends and is very protective of them. Her hobbies outside of her work include Judo, Poker, Horror films and novels, Sci-FI and Gaming of all kinds.

Eurydice
A young sailor of about twenty years of age who was raised by a band of pirates after an intense and bloody massacre on her home city left her orphaned. She was the daughter of a high ranking naval officer who died defending the port from the invading pirates. She was discovered and rescued by a man who used to serve with her father in the navy, acting as a godfather of sorts to the young girl. He taught her how to sail and the intricacies of running a ship from the rigging, to the use of canons, to dealing with a ship going down. The most important lesson the captain bestowed upon the girl was how to defend herself, teaching her how to use a plethora of firearms and swords. One weapon type she gravitated towards was the greatsword. Being able to wield the weapon with grace and ease despite her small frame surprised many of her compatriots especially her godfather. She learned the art of smithing and crafted her very own sword which she affectionately dubbed The Maiden's Plunder. Fifteen years after the massacre that had left her orphaned, the young woman served right alongside her captain and godfather, attacking any pirate band foolish enough to harm civilians. The duo has become feared among other less experienced pirates and well respected by the port towns they protect. The military, however, does not view them with the same admiration, still seeing them as pirates even if they are vigilantes and hunt them just as they would any other pirate band. Eurydice has a boisterous personality, remaining optimistic despite the hardship that happened in her life. When doing battle with other pirates she often likes to taunt them, getting in their heads allowing them to slip up. Her true anger only comes out when civilians are threatened particularly other women in which case she shows no mercy, seeing those who prey on the weak as nothing more than spineless jellyfish who are too afraid to fight someone who has the capability of besting them. They are afraid of death. Eurydice doesn't fear death, she sometimes longs for it. She drowns her depression in the taverns she frequents, the memories of her family's death still haunting her even a decade and a half later. These demons, however, provide Eurydice with a lust to find a sense of belonging in the world, a reason as to why she was spared.
Eurydice has often been described as a young woman of about twenty, with short dirty blonde hair, cold blue eyes, and tanned skin. Her outfit consists of a blood red armored pirate's Jacket, a dark blue shirt, faded black pants, a pair of black sharkskin pirate's boots, and pair of sharkskin gloves. Atop her head rests a black feathered cap. She wields a large greatsword and owns a blunderbuss that she always keeps at her hip.
